No need to be snarky! I was just clarifying what you meant to say. If you don't know what you meant to say then how the hell am I supposed to know what you're trying to say??

And it's 'See you next Monday'! I work full-time.

FREEDOM & LIBERTY......concepts you're about 50 years from learnin' down here...... if at all. Next time some jack-booted servants of the people, pulls you & a few dozen or so fellow citizens over, sticks a tube in yer face, & for no reason except that he wants to says "blow into the tube & don't stop until I tell you to" & then says "wipe your tongue with this".....just say no......see what your FREEDOM & LIBERTY gets ya!!

Auggie should read some statistics....better yet, post some.

But he won't 🤾
Then, it's incumbent upon you to post a reasonable statistic...a point of fact...or present evidence that denotes or proves a point contrary to his. Just because he doesn't does not absolve you from having to yourself.

It is ridiculous to allow widespread sale of assault weapons. When guns are so easy to get your criminals find it very easy to arm themselves and between a scared homeowner and a psychopath or drugged up home invader I know who would shoot. The amendment mentions a militia but that is too onerous it seems. The law was drafted in the age of muzzle loading smooth bore muskets so that only seriously deluded morons sitting in courts or legislatures would allow open slather as to semi auto weapons, machine guns, 100 round magazines etc etc.

@HBS Guy, or anyone else for that matter.....

AR-15s are not "assault rifles" ...... they are solely 'semi-automatics'. AR15s look just like military "assault rifles", but they are .223 mm (22s), that reloads the next round but once after each shot. The AR15 requires the user to press the trigger again for the next shot, & press again for any subsequent shot(s) (semi-automatic)......

"Assault weapons", on the other hand, have a switch that allows a "burst" following one pull of the trigger (fully automatic/machine gun) like the M16 5.56 mm caliber military assault rifle.

Rifles, including the AR15 among the many types, are used in less than 1% of all criminal homicides in America each year. Use of the AR15 accounts for only about 1/10th of that usage...........less than1/10th of 1%.

➤➤ Gun Laws only affect Law-Abiding gun owners, but not the criminals that commit the heinous crimes against the innocent.

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution affirms, defends, & protects an American Citizen's Right to Keep & Bear Arms to use in Self-Defense.....of himself/herself, their loved ones, & friends.

⍟ In America Murder is illegal.

⍟ Attempting to murder is illegal.

⍟ A criminal felon possessing, attempting to purchase, or in any way owning a firearm is illegal.

⍟ It is illegal for a person with a diagnosed violent form of mental illness to possess, attempt to purchase, or in any way own a firearm.

⍟ Shooting & killing people indiscriminately is illegal.

⍟ Using firearms in any criminal manner is illegal.

➤➤ Criminals do not go through background checks when buying or otherwise illegally obtaining firearms.

With all due respect, but sick joke to you maybe.

You have the right to your own personal opinion, & the right to express that opinion, but in America “A criminal felon possessing, attempting to purchase, or in any way owning a firearm is illegal.”

Is it not the same here in Australia?......Isn't it totally illegal for criminal felons to own, possess, or much less use firearms???

That aside for the moment...........on to the BIG picture.

Everyone, especially non-Americans, take great liberties in telling Americans that their cherished Constitution is in desperate need of a make-over. That the American Legal System needs to implement some "common sense" laws regarding the ownership & use of firearms, as if they....as non-Americans.......had any actual legitimate right to do so, outside of an expression of a non-binding, personal opinion.

So, I will ask any one of you, who need to tell America how Americans should change their laws, the questions that have often been asked before but never legitimately answered, please explain to us all....Americans & non-Americans alike:

What new "Common Sense Gun Control" laws do you propose that will both keep firearms out of the hands of criminals, making America safer, & at the same time continue to preserve the Right of Law-Abiding American Citizens to keep their firearms.......as affirmed, protected, & defended by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution......enabling American Citizens to lawfully defend themselves, & their loved ones?

If you can not square these two ⮜, how are you planning to convince gun owning & law-abiding American Citizens that it would be to their best interests to give up their Natural Rights that they have always freely exercised....their Right to protect & defend themselves & their loved ones....after successfully embarking upon a lengthy, divisive, but necessary task of changing their cherished document, their US Constitution, effectively repealing their most precious Right to Keep & Bear Arms for Self-Defense?

⮞ Please explain in detail how criminals are suddenly going to follow these 'new' laws, when for centuries they have ignored & defied all previous law?

⮞ Please explain in detail how these 'new' laws will make all of the American Society safer?

Look up violent crime rates and murder rates in the United States - they're all over the internet. They'll show you that America has the highest levels of violent crime and murder in the developed world.

How do you account for this?

There's a larger issue here, which is to do with culture and how widespread, legal gun ownership influences culture and people's attitude toward violence.

A society that tolerates widespread gun ownership is more at risk of accepting violence and becoming more violent. This is the issue. Why do you think there's so much crime and murder in America? Because of this gun culture.
